Andrea Gibson

The Denver Westword says "If slamming were professional boxing Andrea Gibson would be the light weight you don't think much of until she's knocked you flat on your ass." She is a four time Denver Grand Slam Champion. Ranking fourth out of 350 poets in the national individual finals in St. Louis in 2004, she also lead Denver to a 2 nd place finish in the team competition. San Francisco Magazine calls her "guiless, genuine and alive", tackling queer issues, white privilege, gender and human rights with sharp imagery and passionate monologues. Andrea is a 5 year performer with Vox Feminista, a theatre troupe of radical political women bent on social change and global justice. She is also a member of The Bullhorn Collective, "comprised of thirty of the highest ranking slam poets and accomplished performance poets in the world."
