Brendan McLeod

Brendan McLeod is a spoken word artist and musician based out of Vancouver. He is the current Canadian SLAM champion, has been Vancouver's Grand SLAM champion (2005), and was runner-up at 2005 World SLAM championships, held in Holland. In the past two years he has toured cross-Canada three times, and four times through Europe as both a solo performer and member of the spoken word/music troupe The Fugitives (with CR Avery, Barbara Adler, and Mark Berube). His past readings include: the Rotterdam International Poetry Festival, the German National SLAM championships, the Dylan Thomas Festival, and the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word. Excerpts from his first novel were published in the academic journal Sophia. He has a MA in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo.
