dan solomon is a spoken word performer and author based out of chicago, illinois. he has toured the united states and canada, performing at rock clubs, poetry slams, universities, basement shows, bridges, old churches, art galleries, theaters, and community perfomance spaces, and regularly wins over music audiences with his words. he is the author of a novel, poplife, a contributor to various publications, and the vocalist for the spent shells.

dan solomon’s first full-length collection of poetry, sometimes you gotta fight the bear, is due on august 24. it’s published by shotgun honey press and is 106 pages of poetry from 2003-2006.

the new spent shells record, alamo, was released on january 31. it was produced by james eric, a chicago-based recording artist on grey noise records. alamo features performances from dan solomon, james eric, tony presley of real live tigers, art mayes, damien espinosa, katherine craft, and donner from charlie daniels death wish.
