Tara Betts
A Chicago-to-New York transplant, a writer/teacher/performer, a reluctant wayfarer who's trying to find the right path and still be rooted, a lover who would insulate her walls with books, a chocolate connoisseur who is still vegetarian, sometimes a little flirty, loves all kinds of colors (purple, orange, blue, red, chartreuse), enjoys napping, yoga afficionado (once in a blue moon), a very basic knitter who wants to get better, all about some plants, looking for her byline among the scraps of poems and manuscript pages steadily piling up, asking herself "When did you fall in love with hip hop?" and still reaching for rock, jazz and blues, still diggin on the old Midwest slang like a Common record (cold, Joe, scrimps, That's what I'm screamin, etc.), laughing when I find a chance.
