He is a member of the 2004 Columbia Poetry Slam Team who advanced to the semi-finals at NPS '04, placing 11th overall. DaMinista has also competed in a number of individual slams in Columbia and Charlotte where he has met with considerable success. In May 2004, he competed against 39 other poets at the Spring '04 Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) in Black Mountain, NC and placed 1st place. He competed again in the Fall '04 LEAF competition and placed 7th out of 26 poets. He has the honor of representing Charlotte, NC at the 2005 Individual World Poetry Slam in Worcester, MA. He is featured in the 2004 Columbia Slam Team's compilation chap book, "If These Walls Could Talk" and their compilation CD "Metaphorically Speaking." In January 2004 he produced his 1st chap book, "Though the Looking Glass-Reflections of a Poet." He is also featured in the 5th issue of the THRIFT Poetic Arts Journal released in January 2005. In August 2004, he released his first CD single, "God, I Love You" with Loyal Sons Productions. His debut full length CD, "From the Master's Table" is due for release in 2005.
